JNTU Kakinada 1st Year Syllabus changing

Recently JNTU-Kakinada authorities have prepared a draft syllabus for 1st year. They propose to make 1st year also as semester wise.

It is good that they have included Ethics in the ENgineering curriculam.

It is good that they have introduced History of Science and Technology.

Some how they have made 1st semester as light with 16 courses. Probably they want to take care of delays because of counselling delays. However, I strongly feel that 16 credits semster with all non-engineering may make student buffle whether they have joined Engg or some thing else also.

Also, 16 credits is very light side. I have observed all the students have developed good working habbits during their 2 years of Inter study. As such also they are taking Engg lightlly. Only they are thinking and serous when they come to end of 3rd year ending. This 16 credit semesters may make them still lazy.

Also, the draft syllabus of ECE for the remaining 3 years is also missing many aspects of Electronics, Communications.

I wonder why some Popular Central Univ are giving 3 credits to most of the courses and why JNTU family is following 4 credits. Syllabus is almost same.
